

TEVETA has signed contracts with 8 training institutions across the country to upgrade qualifications for 27 lecturers. About K1.5 million will be spent on Human Resource Development (HRD) sponsorship through the TEVET Fund. The up-skilling programmes will run for a duration of six months to four years.
Under the sponsorship, the lecturers will undertake Degree programmes in Science in Tourism, Design and Technology Teacher Education and Agribusiness. Others will undertake specialised programmes leading to micro-qualifications.
The Diploma programmes will include Teaching Methodology, Automotive Electrical, Craft in Bricklaying and Plastering and Non-Destructive Testing.
The lecturers have been drawn from seven institutions, namely Solwezi Trades Training Institute, Zambia Air Services Training Institute, Chipata Central Skills Training Center, Kasiya College, Monze Youth Project, Chreso Ministries, Katembula Youth Resource Centre and Mulele Mwana.
