Zambia’s first cohort of 16 apprentices in toolmaking at the Production Technologies Association of South Africa (PtSA) Centre of Excellence was sent-off by the Minister of Technology and Science last month. Speaking during the send-off breakfasting, Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. The Government is investing in empowering youths with appropriate skills and competences to enable them effectively to contribute to the economic development of the great nation. Skilled youth are a critical workforce to produce goods and services in different sectors of the economy. The TEVET Fund is key in supporting the development of technical skills, vocational training, and entrepreneurship initiatives for socio-economic development objectives.

Minister of Technology and Science Honourable FELIX MUTATI has disclosed that in 2023, more than 14, 000 out-of-school youths, Micro- Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and informal sector operators have benefited from the Skills Empowerment Programme.
