

TEVETA has injected K21.2 million into the "Skills for Youth Empowerment" programme to benefit 7, 100 youths in hundred (100) constituencies. The beneficiaries will be imparted with various skills in line with local economic opportunities and skills demands. The training programmes will be implemented by training institutions registered with TEVETA.

President Hakainde Hichilema has flagged off the financing of national wide skills training programmes under the National Youth Skills Empowerment Programme.
The national skills training programme will be implemented in 100 constituencies by 81 training institutions registered with TEVETA. The programme will benefit more than 7,100 youths in at least in 37 various skills areas. About K21.2 million will be invested in the skills empowerment programme in the first circle of funding. Ministry of Technology and Science has awarded TEVET bursary to eight thousand, eight hundred and thirteen (8, 813) students in technical education and vocational training. The bursary is aimed at increasing access to skills training and achieves inclusive skills and education delivery across the country. Over the years, Government limited student bursary to learners at the University of Zambia and Copperbelt University.
