2020/2021 Science & Technology Postgraduate Scholarships

The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) is inviting suitably qualified Zambians to apply for ten (10) PhD and ten (10) MSc Scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year, of which 70% will go to females and 30% to males.

Government has embraced development of occupation standards in order to create quality skilled workforce in various economic sectors. Higher Education Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame disclosed.

Mrs. Siame said over the years her Ministry embarked on linking the bridge between quality and access occupational standards from the mismatch.

Higher Education Minister Eng. Dr Brian Mushimba said the Government has continued to support the TEVET colleges through skills training and self job creation despite difficult conditions experienced by colleges over a period of time lacking vibrant equipment as Technology keeps escalating.

The Ministry of Higher Education has launched an Online Bursary Application System.

Higher Education Minister Honourable Eng. There’s plenty of demand right now for the expertise of the WorldSkills Capacity Building Centre hosted by the Global Institute for Transferring Skills under the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.

But while COVID-19 is making it challenging to share skills in person, the Capacity Building Centre has been able to launch an online capacity building programme, which is a three-month course working with instructors from Columbia, Costa Rica, Mongolia, Namibia, and Zambia. TEVETA signs training contracts with Zambia Correctional Services

TEVETA and the Zambia Correctional Services (ZCS) have signed 15 training contracts for K1 million to train 400 inmates as part of reformation for smooth integration into society. The financing is under the TEVET Fund managed by TEVETA. The funds goes towards the acquisition of training materials for inmates at Milima, Lusaka Central, Kansenshi and facilities under Mukobeko such as Mpima and Kalonga.

Administration of July and December 2020 examination sessions

Closing date for July 2020 examination session was 26th June. The July 2020 examination session will cater for ALL candidates (regardless of the level) who had initially enrolled to sit for the April/May 2020 examination session. The examination session for July 2020 will be conducted from 27th July to 7th August 2020. 

The December 2020 examinations shall be administered from 7 to 23 December 2020.
