CIRCULAR ON ACCREDITATION OF TRAINERS, ASSESSORS AND EXAMINERS

10th January 2019 CIRCULAR NO: 1 OF 2019 TO: Principals Training Managers Institutional Directors Centre Managers Registered TEVET Institutions in Zambia SUBJECT: ACCREDITATION OF TRAINERS, ASSESSORS AND EXAMINERS One of the functions of TEVETA, in line with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (Amendment) Act number 11 of 2005, is to accredit trainers, assessors and examiners. The Authority has been issuing separate certificates for each category of accreditation to applicants that satisfy the accreditation criteria. In an effort to improve on the efficiency of our accreditation, TEVETA wishes to inform all stakeholders that effective 1st January 2019, the Authority will now issue only one certificate to each successful applicant on which all the accreditation categories awarded will be indicated. Further, applications for accreditation as trainer will now have to be combined with either assessor or examiner, or both. No application for the trainer category alone will be processed as all trainers in TEVET are also assessors and/or examiners in one way or another during the training delivery processes. Following the revisions indicated above, the fee structure has also been revised as follow:- a) Combination of Trainer, Assessor and Examiner - K1,300 b) Combination of Trainer with Assessor or Examiner - K1,000 c) Combination of Assessor and Examiner - K1,000 d) Assessor or Examiner only - K700 You will note that the total cost of accreditation for the three categories has come down which should make it easier for our service providers in TEVET to comply.
